Rancho Cucamonga Roof Pros is a licensed, insured roofing contractor working Rancho Cucamonga and the western Inland Empire: concrete tile relays and new underlayment, roof leak repair and roof replacement, flat and low-slope roofing, gutters and downspouts, and commercial roofing for HOA and multifamily property.

Nearly every tract roof in this city is concrete tile, and concrete tile outlives the felt beneath it by twenty-five years or more. So our first question is the age of the underlayment, not the age of the roof. We lift and relay tile over self-adhered SBS or high-temperature synthetic underlayment, replace valley metal, pipe flashings and ridge bedding while the tile is off, and lay your own tile back down.

We also do the work tile does not cover: two-ply modified bitumen on entry and deck sections, K-style aluminum gutters in continuous runs, fascia and soffit repair, chimney chase covers and crickets, skylight replacement, dry ridge ventilation, emergency tarping and dry-in, and the written documentation an insurance claim actually needs. Estimates are free, we walk the roof rather than the driveway, and the quote says plainly what we will do.

Why Rancho Cucamonga Chooses Rancho Cucamonga Roof Pros

  • We quote the relay before the replacement, because on most tile roofs in this city the tile is not what failed
  • Three tile lifts per plane on every inspection, at the valley, mid-slope and one course above the eave
  • Proposals name the underlayment product and its ASTM designation, the batten layout and the valley metal gauge
  • New valley metal, dry ridge venting and stainless nose clips included by default on every relay
  • We decline tile sealing sold as a leak fix, and say in writing why a coating will not stop it
  • Event damage and end-of-life underlayment documented separately, so a claim is not denied wholesale

About Rancho Cucamonga Roof Pros in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Rancho Cucamonga Roof Pros is a roofing contractor working Rancho Cucamonga, the rest of western San Bernardino County, the east San Gabriel Valley and northwestern Riverside County. Concrete tile is what this city is roofed with, so tile relays and underlayment replacement are what we do most, alongside leak repair, low-slope work, gutters and commercial roofing for associations and property managers.

The reason we lead with the underlayment is that it is the honest answer here. A tract built in the 1990s has a covering with decades left over a waterproofing layer that is finished, and the most profitable thing a roofer can do in that situation is sell a full replacement anyway. We would rather quote the relay, show you the replacement number beside it, and let you choose with both figures in front of you.

There are jobs we turn down. If your felt tests sound and your leak is one flashing, we will fix the flashing and tell you to call us in four years, not sell you a roof. We do not take on historic slate or wood shake restoration, we will not act as your insurance representative, and if you want a coating applied to tile to stop an active leak we will decline the work and explain why.

Roof Replacement & Tear-Off in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Roof Replacement & Tear-Off

Most callers in this city do not need one. Where the covering is concrete tile, the tile still has decades in it and only the felt beneath has finished its service life.

Roof Leak Detection & Repair in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Roof Leak Detection & Repair

A tile roof lies about where it leaks. Water gets past the tile, lands on the felt, and runs downslope on that felt until it finds a nail hole or a lap.

Storm Damage Roof Restoration in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Storm Damage Roof Restoration

The storm that fills our phone here is a three-day atmospheric river, not a hailstorm. Rain arrives sideways for forty hours, and every tile roof in the valley finds out at once whether its underlayment is still doing the job.

Hail Damage Roof Assessment in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Hail Damage Roof Assessment

We will probably tell you it was not hail. That is the most useful thing on this page.

Wind Damage Roof Repair in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Wind Damage Roof Repair

The tile that moved was almost certainly never fastened. In the field of a tract tile roof the courses hold each other down by interlock and weight, and the builder nailed only the perimeter, the rakes, the hips and the ridge.

Roof Inspections & Underlayment Reports in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Roof Inspections & Underlayment Reports

An inspection on a tile roof is worth nothing unless somebody lifts tile. From the ground, or from a drone, you are photographing a fifty-year product that will keep looking good for another twenty while the twenty-five-year product beneath it finishes.

Asphalt Shingle Roofing in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Asphalt Shingle Roofing

Composition has a real place here, and it is not the main field of a tile house. It belongs on the additions: the room over the patio, the converted garage, the rear bump-out with a four-in-twelve pitch nobody wanted to tile.

Metal Roofing & Metal Details in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Metal Roofing & Metal Details

On a tile tract house, metal usually loses on the main field and wins on the pieces nobody photographs. That is an unusual thing for a roofer to put in writing, so here is the whole reasoning behind it.

Concrete Tile Relay & Underlayment in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Concrete Tile Relay & Underlayment

This is the page that fits most houses in this city. Two clocks run on a concrete tile roof and they run at very different speeds.

Flat & Low-Slope Roofing in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Flat & Low-Slope Roofing

Almost every tile house here has a small flat roof, and it usually leaks before the tile does. The entry portico, the deck over a bedroom, the strip behind a parapet at a party wall.

Roof Coatings & Sealing in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Roof Coatings & Sealing

We will not sell you tile sealing as a leak fix. It is the most commonly mis-sold product in this valley and the pitch is always the same: your tile is porous, we seal it, your leak stops.

Roof & Attic Ventilation in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Roof & Attic Ventilation

Tile roofs vent better than people think and worse than they should. The tile field itself sits on battens with an air space under it, so the covering breathes.

Skylights & Roof Windows in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Skylights & Roof Windows

The builders in these tracts set acrylic domes on site-built wood curbs and flashed them with a kit out of a box. Those units are now well past their design life, and the acrylic is usually crazed, yellowed and slightly out of shape.

Gutters & Downspouts in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Gutters & Downspouts

Water leaves a tile roof faster and further out than water leaves a shingle roof. The tile overhangs the fascia, the pan concentrates the flow into a stream, and a five-inch trough set tight against the board gets overshot in the first serious rain.

Fascia & Soffit Repair in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Fascia & Soffit Repair

Eaves on these tracts are built one way: stucco-clad soffits with a painted wood fascia board behind the gutter, and a two-by sub-fascia carrying the rafter tails. The wood you can actually see is not usually where the trouble started.

Chimney & Chase Flashing in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Chimney & Chase Flashing

Most chimneys in this city are not masonry at all. They are a metal firebox inside a framed chase, wrapped in stucco, with a sheet-metal cover on top and a flue through it.

Emergency Tarping & Dry-In in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Emergency Tarping & Dry-In

Tarping a tile roof is not the job most people picture. You cannot staple a tarp to concrete tile, and you cannot nail battens over it without putting twenty new holes through whatever underlayment is left.

Commercial, HOA & Multifamily Roofing in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Commercial, HOA & Multifamily Roofing

Commercial work in this city is mostly not warehouses. It is tile.

Insurance Claim Documentation in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Insurance Claim Documentation

The word that decides your claim is not damage. It is cause.

Commercial roofing services in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Commercial, HOA & Multifamily Roofing in Rancho Cucamonga & the Western Inland Empire

Commercial roofing here is mostly tile over hidden low-slope. Condominium and apartment buildings, and retail and office along Foothill Boulevard, wrap a steep tile mansard around a flat field of modified bitumen or built-up roofing, and the two clocks run at different speeds.

We survey every roof in a community, grade them, and write a phased scope a board can carry across several budget years and actually vote on. Occupied-building logistics are planned before the price: tile stacked low over bearing walls, access routed away from carports and pool decks, dated notices for residents, and no rolling tile at six in the morning.

  • Tile mansard relays over occupied condominium and apartment units, phased building by building
  • Two-ply SBS modified bitumen recover where core tests show the substrate is dry
  • Mechanically attached and fully adhered TPO where wet insulation has to be removed
  • The mansard-to-low-slope transition detail, which is where most commercial leaks in this city are
  • Written condition grading and remaining-life ranges formatted for HOA reserve studies
  • Scupper, overflow and internal drain repair, plus tapered insulation where framing gives no slope
  • Certificates of general liability and workers compensation naming the association or owner
  • Resident notices, dated schedules, daily magnet sweeps and no six a.m. starts

How It Works

  1. We Lift Tile, Not Just Look at It. A tile roof photographs well for twenty years after the felt beneath it has failed, so a walk-around tells you nothing. We lift at three points on every plane, at the valley, at mid-slope and one course above the eave, and read the underlayment for brittleness and layer count. You see the photographs the same day.
  2. A Written Range, Not a Single Year. Our report gives each plane a felt condition and a remaining-life range, plus the cheapest thing that would help. Sometimes that is nothing for four years. We put that in writing too, because a report that always recommends work is not a report.
  3. Two Numbers Side by Side. Where a relay and a full replacement are both defensible, you get both prices on one page with the difference spelled out. The proposal names the underlayment product and its ASTM designation, the batten layout, the valley metal gauge and the breakage percentage included.
  4. One Crew, One Week, Then a Walk. A typical two-storey relay runs three to five working days. Tile gets stacked low over bearing walls, the site gets swept and rolled with a magnet daily, and we walk the finished roof with you before the final invoice, photographs in hand.

What Rancho Cucamonga Customers Say

★★★★★
Two companies quoted a full tear-off from the sidewalk. These guys got on the roof, lifted tile at three spots, showed me photos of felt that was cracking in my hand, and quoted a relay for a lot less. Same tile, new everything underneath. No leaks through two wet winters.
Ruben A. · Upland
★★★★★
Called about a stain in the hallway ceiling. He explained that water runs down the felt and the stain is nowhere near the entry, then found a rusted valley about twelve feet uphill. Fixed it that afternoon and told me my underlayment had four or five years left instead of trying to sell me a roof.
Dana P. · Claremont
★★★★★
Our HOA had five buildings and a number from another contractor that the board was never going to approve. They surveyed every roof, graded them, and gave us a four-year phased plan we could actually put in the reserve study. Residents got dates and they kept them.
Marisol T. · Chino Hills
★★★★★
Honest answer I did not expect: my roof is too new to touch. They cleaned the valleys, checked the flashings, wrote down what to watch for, charged me for the inspection and told me to call back in five years. That is why I will call them back.
Greg N. · Eastvale

Frequently Asked Questions

My tile roof looks perfect but the ceiling is stained. How?

Because the tile is not the waterproofing. It is a rain screen. The layer that keeps water out is the underlayment beneath it, and on most Rancho Cucamonga tracts that felt is now twenty-five years old or more. The tile will look good for another two decades while the felt underneath is finished. That gap is the single most common reason we get called here.

What is a lift and relay, and how is it different from a new roof?

We stack your existing tile on the roof, strip the old felt to bare deck, repair any bad sheathing, install new underlayment and battens, and lay the same tile back down with new pieces only where the old ones broke in handling. You keep the covering, which is the expensive and still-good part, and replace the layer that actually failed. It is materially less than a full tear-off and replacement.

How much tile breaks during a relay?

On a careful relay of a 1990s concrete profile, five to twelve percent of the field tile. Lightweight tile and two-piece mission caps break more. We include a breakage percentage in the written quote and we carry salvage stock for profiles that are no longer made. If your profile cannot be matched, we tell you before the tile comes off.

Should I convert my tile roof to composition shingles?

Usually no, and not for aesthetic reasons. You would be sending a covering with decades of service left to a landfill and buying one that will need replacing before your new underlayment is halfway through its life. The exception is a roof whose profile is discontinued and broadly broken, or a structure that should never have carried tile weight.

Do cracked tiles need to be replaced right away?

Rarely. A cracked tile lets more water reach the felt, so it accelerates whatever the felt is already doing, but it is not a hole in your roof. Most cracks we find here were made by foot traffic from other trades, not weather. We replace them as maintenance at a modest price and we do not photograph one and call it an emergency.

Is a leak on a twenty-five-year-old tile roof an insurance claim?

The event might be, the condition is not. Wind-displaced ridge tile or a limb strike is a sudden occurrence and carriers pay for that. Brittle felt at the end of its service life is wear, and filing it as storm damage is how whole claims get denied. We document the two separately, meet the adjuster on the roof, and quote the relay as its own owner-funded line.
